We are looking for an Agency Accountant who wants to be part of a successful creative business. You may already have experience managing the financial responsibilities in a small/medium-sized company, or be an experienced assistant accountant looking for your next step. Financial services are a vital part of DNA and you will be an integral team member, reporting to the Commercial Director. 


In the first few months, you will receive a 1:1 handover and mentoring from our Company Accountant who is planning retirement mid-2022.   There may be an opportunity for you to work slightly reduced hours for this initial period, however once there is full handover we envisage the role will require a 40 hour week (there can be some flexibility around how your hours might be managed). 


We are looking for.


  • Minimum of 5 years experience of financial accounting within a small to medium-sized business
  • A thorough understanding and practical knowledge of good financial management systems and processes, ideally within an agency/ services context
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • Responsible, organised, efficient and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Good capability in the use of accounting software (Moneyworks is currently used) and Excel.
  • Experienced in developing new systems with business growth and changing requirements, or an aptitude for taking on new challenges
  • Adaptable to change


You will.


  • Be the lead person for all day to day financial activities across the business
  • Be primarily responsible for maintaining our financial ledgers, bank reconciliations, supplier payments, GST/tax filing/payment, and completing the monthly management accounts.
  • Manage bank accounts and debtor recovery
  • Following the complete handover, you will also be responsible for payroll, cashflow management and bank reporting
